Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is your projected timeline for completion?
    This would be based on what kind of materials are selected, lead times, permit approvals, and whether you would like to complete it in phases. A more accurate timeline will be provided once there are a few more details finalized on the scope of work.
  • Do you offer a warranty on your work? If so, what does it cover?
    Yes, all of our work is warranted from substantial completion of your project. All other manufacturer and product warranties that extend past that are passed on to you as well.
  • Are the contractors for the project all a part of your staff or do you subcontract out?
    Almost all of the work is completed by our own crew, our own employees. There are, however, certain aspects within the scope where we may bring in another contractor. Even when this is the case, these are all people we coordinate and work with regularly.
  • Will you obtain all necessary permits for the project and if so is that included in the price?
    Yes, we will include all anticipated permits and application fees for municipalities in our initial proposal. However, homeowners are responsible for complying with local HOA fees and permissions, if necessary.
  • If you use subcontractors are they licensed and insured? Have you used them before?
    Yes (see above). On top of that, anyone we work with who isn't our employee is required to have their up-to-date insurance and other certifications on file with our office.
  • Have you completed a project similar to ours before?
    You can view lots of our recent projects on our website, www.TolinDesigns.com, to see if we're a good fit and check out some of our reviews online.
  • Are you bonded and insured?
    Yes, and a copy of our policies is available upon request. All electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other necessary work within your scope are completed by licensed professionals in their respective fields.
